As an educator, Maricela aims to foster a learning environment that is attuned and supportive of students’ diverse learning needs. She does this by incorporating culturally responsive, warm demander, and equitable and inclusive pedagogical practices. She relies on research-backed instructional approaches that are associated with positive educational outcomes based on her own research and the extant literature. Her main priority is to enact pedagogical practices that support equitable educational outcomes in higher education.
